Harvey E Ellis

Harvey E. Ellis, 72, of Grand Island passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 surrounded by family. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. There will be a luncheon afterwards at the Church of Christ , 2822 W Stolley Park Road in Grand Island. Harvey was born on August 3, 1951 in Grand Island, son of Don and Rose (Stoddard) Ellis. He attended Grand Island Public Schools. He was employed by Grand Island Body Shop and Diamond Plastics for many years. On June 24, 1978 he married Denise Nichols they made their home in Grand Island. Harvey grew up with true rock and roll, he was the bass player for many local bands. He could tell you who was playing just by listening to a song. He loved to grow a variety of flowers and garden, he once had a greenhouse, where he took up Horticulture. He would leave family gatherings to “let the dogs out” , and only people who really knew him, knew that insider! The open road always called to him and over the years he owned a variety of motorcycles and cars, his Toyota MR2 his favorite. His favorite movie was the Wizard of Oz and he enjoyed collecting dragons. Harvey could be stubborn but loving in his own way. He is survived by his wife, Denise Ellis of Grand Island; children, Cynthia Ellis, Carie Ellis, Ryan Ellis, Alicia Ellis all of Grand Island; grandchildren, Alex, Erik, Tavi, Aidan, Andrew, Justine, Kori, Kaitlin, Shelby and Kay; great- grandchildren, Blake , Katalina, Nik, Kamden, Wyatt, Gemini, Nevaeh, Khloe, Quinn, Elle, Jupiter, Kaiden, Lilanna, Ezekial, Sampson, and two on the way; brother, Don “Punk” Ellis and sister, Joyce; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, sisters in law Bonnie Schritt & Ellen Schritt; and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred Schritt, Martin “Buzz” Schritt, and Leo John “Sonny”Schritt; sisters, Kaylynn Loveland and Betty Stoltenburg; sister in law June Schritt ; and a granddaughter, Amanda Summers.
