Ina E Klinginsmith

Ina E. Klinginsmith, 96, of Kearney, formerly of Grand Island passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Kearney. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Visitation will be held the hour prior. Burial will follow at 3p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Scotia. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements; memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Ina was born on April 17, 1930, in Burlington, CO, youngest of seven children, to Louis and Christina (Hansen) Olsen. She spent the duration of the dust bowl living near Burlington until 1940 when her family moved by Scotia where she graduated from high school. Ina married Lyle D. Klinginsmith on January 6, 1948, in Cheyenne Wells, CO. While Lyle was in the Marines, Ina lived near where he was station and following his honorable discharge they made their home on a farm south of North Loup. They then lived on a farm northwest of Scotia until they bought a farm near Davis Creek by Loup City where they raised their son, Randy. In 1977 they settled in Grand Island. Ina worked side by side with Lyle while living on the farm and sold cream, eggs, and tended her extensive vegetable garden. She also drove a school bus and worked at the café Scotia. In Grand Island, she earned her realtor license and worked for DaLy Realty. Ina also worked at Dillards, and the Western Shop. Any project Ina put her mind to accomplished; through the years this could be many projects from carpeting rental houses or refinishing her cherished piano. All her life Ina tended a large garden and canned all the produce. She was a wonderful cook, tending the wood burning stove when she was younger and later perfecting lemon meringue pie for family gatherings. She sewed many quilts and played piano by ear. She was rarely idle and devoted to caring and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Randy (Sheila) Klinginsmith of Kearney; grandson, Nathan (Mindy) Klinginsmith of Kearney; great-grandchildren, Arielle, Abrielle, and Asher; sister, Lil Pickrel of Denver, CO; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ina was preceded in death by her parents; husband of almost 71 years, Lyle on December 24, 2018; siblings, Anna, Clara, Ed, Marius, and Alta.
