Jadwiga "Jody" Keska

Jadwiga “Jody” Teresa Keska, age 83, of Grand Island, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Tabitha Prairie Commons Independent Living surrounded by her loving family. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 10:30am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Doniphan with Father David Oldham, celebrant. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A Rosary will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 7pm at the church. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Jody was born on October 6, 1942, in Kraków, Poland to Zbigniew and Bolesława (Sliwiński) Sadowy. She graduated in 1970, with a master’s degree in Slavic languages from The Pedagogical University of Kraków. On September 11, 1966, she was united in marriage to Jerry Keska. To this union two children were born, Agnieszka and Marek. They lived in Poland and moved to Germany in 1982. The family moved to the United States in 1984. They moved frequently for Jerry’s career and lived in Kentucky, Ohio, New York, Washington, Louisiana and New Mexico, before recently making the permanent move to Nebraska to be near family. Jody worked over the years as a librarian and a tax specialist. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidery, knitting and crocheting. They also spent time skiing and mushroom hunting. She was loved by all who knew her and always had a bright smile and a hug. The love and warmth she showed touched the lives of many. She courageously fought a nine-year battle with breast cancer. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry Keska of Grand Island; daughter, Agnieszka “Angie” (Kenn) Frederick of Doniphan and their children, Alex Frederick, Josh Frederick, Christian (Madi) Frederick, Michaela (Jaden) Gonnerman, Kyle (Kaley) Frederick and Naomi Frederick; son, Marek Keska of Lincoln and his children, Cederic Keska, Cydney DeLeon and Cierra Keska; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Krystyna Szota of Poland and Grazyna Sadowy of Poland; sisters in-law, Janinia Czekaj of Poland, Barbara (Marek) Pałka of Poland and Halina (Jósef) Mal of Germany. Jody was preceded in death by her parents and brothers in-law, Zbigniew Szota and Jósef Czeraj.
