Linda "Lynn" Jensen

Linda Katherine "Lynn" Jensen, 76, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30th, at All Faiths Funeral Home. There is a gathering of family and friends from 2:00-3:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grand Island Catholic Charities or Hastings Heartland Pet Connection. Linda was born June 29, 1950, in Hays, Kansas, the only daughter of Ralph and Rosella (Rupp) Augustine. She grew up in Hays and graduated from Hays High School in 1968. On September 5, 1992, she married Cpt. Thomas Andrew Jensen, on his return from a tour in Desert Storm. The couple lived several places in Kansas, before moving to Grand Island in 2022 to be closer to Linda’s son. Linda held various jobs throughout her life, but her greatest joy came from helping others. She generously volunteered her time to numerous causes and projects, including the Battered Women’s Shelter in Hays and Christmas shopping for Catholic Charities of Fort Leavenworth. Linda was always looking for a way to make a difference. She and Tom spent countless hours throughout the year shopping for and assembling gift bags for Catholic Charities, bringing joy and comfort to families in need. Linda had a deep love for nature and animals. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens, which reflected the care and attention she gave to everything she loved. She also enjoyed baking and trying new recipes, always with plenty of family and friends willing to serve as taste testers. Over the years, Linda rescued many dogs and cats and continued to care for several cats that regularly came to her porch for dinner. Above all, Linda will be remembered for her generous heart, compassion for others, love of animals, and unwavering willingness to help whenever she could. Her kindness touched countless lives, and her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Tom Jensen; son, Jeremy Wann; stepsons, Ryan Jensen and Weston Jensen; and brothers, Ralph Jr. (Lois) Augustine, Greg Augustine, and Bruce Augustine. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Rene Schuckman, Ryan Augustine, Rachael Pattillo, Nathan Augustine and Bethany Pfannenstiel; and Mitchell, the black lab that was her faithful friend until the very end. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; and sister-in-law, Donna Augustine.
