Rhonda Kay Davis, born January 12, 1965, passed away on May 16, 2026 — one week after Mother’s Day, a day that always held deep meaning for her. Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother, Annabelle Jankovits Thomas, and her daughter, Amanda, whose memories she carried with her every day. Rhonda lived a life stitched together by grit, humor, loyalty, and a fierce love for her family. She grew up learning early what hard work looked like and what it meant to stand on your own two feet. Those lessons shaped her into the woman her family depended on — steady when life was chaotic, sharp when the world demanded strength, and endlessly giving even when she had little to spare. She was the mother of two daughters, Morgan Davis and Annabelle Shults, who will forever carry her guidance, her stubbornness, and her fire. To her grandchildren, she was comfort, laughter, and the kind of love that makes a childhood feel safe. They adored her deeply, and they will feel her love with them everywhere they go. She was also deeply loved by Roberta and Dennis Kindred, her additional family — not by blood or paperwork, but by the kind of connection that chooses you, holds you, and doesn't let go. Rhonda also leaves behind many loved ones, brothers, and sisters who will keep her memory alive through stories, shared moments, and the unbreakable bonds she helped create. She had a way of turning simple moments into memories — a shared meal, a long talk, a quiet drive. Rhonda taught her family how to be strong without becoming hardened, how to care deeply without losing themselves, and how to stand up for what matters. She loved Coca Cola, cats, and the small comforts that made life feel warm. A true Capricorn, she was stubborn in all the best ways, unafraid to tell you exactly how she felt, and always honest in a world that often isn’t. real, lasting, and rooted in genuine love. And anyone who knew her knew this too: Rhonda had a wild streak, a sharp wit, and a strength you didn’t want to underestimate. Her toughness was legendary, but it was matched only by the size of her heart if you were close to her. Rhonda will be cremated by All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island, Nebraska. There will be no formal service, but the family welcomes anyone who has photos or memories of Rhonda to share them.
