Robert "Bob" James Crosby

Robert “Bob” James Crosby, age 68, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:30pm at All Faiths Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com. Bob was born on August 19, 1957, in Huron, SD. He was born to Nancy Wallingford and at six months old adopted by James and Doris (Nieland) Crosby. Bob was raised in South Dakota until he was 16 years old and the family moved to Hastings. In 1974 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1978. While in the Navy he was a fireman on the USS Kitty Hawk. On December 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Angie Chrisman. To this union a daughter, Summer and son, Tyson were born. On January 1, 2011, he was united in marriage to Lori Opp, and he gained a stepdaughter, Brittney and stepson, Kyle. Bob began his journey of sobriety on March 3, 1991, and was very proud to have just celebrated 35 years. Bob was a skilled bowler and had a true passion for the sport. He owned and operated his bowling pro shop for years as well as coaching. His pride and dedication could be seen in his work and the many hours he spent taking bowling training courses. Bob enjoyed his world being loud whether it was attending concerts, blasting rock and roll or lighting the biggest fireworks on the 4th of July. He also liked playing his guitar, watching sprint car races and NASCAR. After retirement he found enjoyment in the quiet of nature, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. His great pride and joy above all else was his family and the time he got to spend with them. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lori Crosby of Grand Island; daughter, Summer (Gavan) Ericson of Axtell; son, Tyson (Megan) Crosby of Hastings and their children, Hayden, Madison and Jackson; stepdaughter, Brittney (Appol) Neeman of St. Libory and their children, Maverick and Asher; stepson, Kyle (Leslie) Neeman of Phillips and their children, Kayla, Leah and Kyler; brother, David Fitzgerald-Crosby; sister, Stacy (Mark) Staley; stepsisters, Lynn (Ron) Julianelle, Debbie (Skip) Heidler and Dee Bauer; parents in-law, John and Jan Camp and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his father, James Crosby; mother, Doris Crosby Laird; stepfather, Bill Laird; birth mother, Nancy Wallingford; brother, Kelly Bettelyoun and parents in-law, Butch and Jan Opp.
